Andy Kowles is an independent technology consultant with more than 24 years of experience building storage technology spanning the full path from the client to the cloud, from embedded firmware to large scale data infrastructure to tools and modeling. Over his career he has served as a Research Director, Principal Engineer, and Product Team Lead at multiple leading firms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Micron, and Seagate, working across consumer devices, enterprise systems, and cloud storage infrastructure. Andy also has experience in Space Systems Satellite Design through the Colorado Space Grant Consortium, and studied Global Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and International Security and Political Economy at the University of Denver Korbel School (Josef Korbel School of International Studies).
